Identity released of Sheboygan Falls windsurfer killed on Lake Winnebago

FOND DU LAC, WI (WHBL) - The name of the wind surfer who died on Lake Winnebago over the weekend has been released. Seventy-one-year-old Ronald Sandven of Sheboygan Falls was an experienced wind surfer.

Conditions on the lake may have had something to do with his death.  Fond du Lac County Sheriff’s officials say their boating under the influence enforcement effort “Operation Dry Water” over the weekend was limited because of water conditions and wind.

Sandven’s wind surfing equipment washed up on the east shore of the lake and shortly after that his body was found about 300 yards off shore. The cause of his death has not been released yet.
