SHEBOYGAN, WI (WHBL) - Reaction from one area state senator regarding the newly signed state budget is positive. Republican Joe Leibham of Sheboygan, speaking on Sheboygan’s Morning News Monday, said he supports how the budget turned out. He said the budget will provide more economic independence and freedom for residents and businesses, has education reform and support, and reforms entitlement programs.
Leibham also voiced his thoughts for supporting a new tax credit for those who choose not to send their kids to public schools. While he agrees it is everyone responsibility to pay for public education, he thinks those who choose not to have their kids take part should get some relief. The tax credit is only good for those families whose kids attend parochial schools. Leibham said he would have liked to see it cover all private school options.
