SHEBOYGAN, Wis. (WHBL) - The Sheboygan City Council has come up with a list of Guiding Principles for the office of Mayor. The major thrust of the effort is to define how the Mayor works with the Chief Administrative Officer. Alderperson Mary Lynne Donahue brought in the proposal. She said it's become clear that the council is struggling with the relationship between the Mayor and the Chief Administrative officer. The position was created in 2011 and there had been conflict between the two during last year’s budget process. Donahue said that position does a lot of the things that the Mayor used to do "and we need to talk about what is it that we want our mayor focusing on and how those two should work together. Aldermen last night directed Donahue to make a few revisions and bring they back before the Committee of the Whole when it meets early next month. Mayor Terry Van Akkeren said last night he had no problem with the guidelines:
