SAN FRANCISCO, Ca. (WHBL) - In just his eighth NFL start, San Francisco rookie quarterback Colin Kaepernick was the star of the show as the 49ers roughed up Green Bay 45-31 in an NFC divisional game last night. Kaepernick rushed for an NFL quarterback playoff record 181 yards. He scored two touchdowns and passed for two touchdowns to earn his team a return to the NFC Championship game. His 49ers will meet the winner of today’s game between the Seahawks and the Falcons next Sunday. Kaepernick’s day didn’t start off very well, with a first-quarter pick-six by Sam Shields, but he was golden after that. Both his touchdown passes were caught by Michael Crabtree, who had a total of nine receptions for 119 yards. The Packer defense had no answers for San Francisco, giving up 323 yards on the ground and 579 total. The first half was close with the Packers leading 14-7 after the first period and trailing after a wild first half, 24-21 at intermission. DuJuan Harris scored on an 18-yard run and James Jones caught a 20-yard scoring pass, both in the first half. Greg Jennings caught another scoring pass from Aaron Rodgers, but it was long after the outcome had been decided.
