SHEBOYGAN, Wis. (WHBL) - A homeless man is facing charges for attempting to start a fire at Memorial Mall in Sheboygan. 19 year old Joseph Hanson was charged Friday in Sheboygan County Court after police were called to the mall regarding a garbage can fire. According to the criminal complaint, Hanson told authorities he’d recently been asked to leave the Salvation Army, and was looking for attention, so he started a fire in a wall hanging garbage can in a bathroom. Security was able to extinguish the fire before it was able to spread to other areas of the building. Hanson is facing $10,000 in fines and 9 months in jail if convicted.
