THIEF RIVER FALLS, MN (WSAU) - Now that some snowmobile trails are opening, you may wish to make sure your sled is safe and not affected by service bulletins or recalls.
One such recall was issued recently by Arctic Cat's manufacturing plant in Thief River Falls, Minnesota.
Arctic Cat is contacting several customers who bought a new snowmobile in the last seven months. A fuel tank problem has prompted them to recall about 39-hundred snowmobiles. The company says there have been no fires or injuries, but dealers have noticed fuel leaks on brand new sleds caused by damage during the production process.
Arctic Cat is replacing the tanks on their Bearcat 570 XT and 570 WT models, as well as the Bearcat Z1 snowmobiles with the XT, GS, and LTD options.
All of the affected snowmobiles are 2013 model year sleds manufactured after last May. The recall affects a series of vehicle identification numbers. Owners can obtain their vehicle identification number and compare it to the list attached to this story at the link below.
