Hundreds remain without power from snowstorm in southeast Wisconsin

SHEBOYGAN, WI (WTAQ) - Only about 400 We Energies’ electric customers were without power in southeast Wisconsin as of late Wednesday morning.

That’s after thousands were left in the dark Tuesday night, during an intense snowstorm that dumped over 15 inches in parts of Sheboygan County – where most of outages are reported at last word.

As of late morning, the continuing storm has dumped a foot of snow, or close to it, along much of the Lake Michigan shore from Sheboygan southward to the Illinois state line.

Cedar Grove reported the highest snow total at 15.5. The city of Sheboygan had 11 inches. Random Lake, further inland in Sheboygan County, had 9.5 inches.

In Kenosha County, Pleasant Prairie had 11.5 inches, and the city of Kenosha picked up a foot. Metro Milwaukee reported 8.3 inches. The Madison area reported 4 to 6 inches.

Lesser amounts fell to the west and north of there.

Light snow was still falling late Wednesday morning in much of the state. It’s expected to clear out late Wednesday night.
