The Marquette Golden Eagles (19 AP, 20 Coaches), were knocked out of a share of first place in the Big East Conference by the 15th ranked Georgetown Hoyas Monday night in Washington D.C. 63-55. The Golden Eagles played a sloppy first half with a dozen turnovers and head coach Buzz Williams got so frustrated he was whisteled for a technical foul with Marquette down only three points. The Hoyas went on an 8-1 run and were never seriously challenged after that. Otto Porter Jr. led Georgetown with 21 points. Jamil Wilson scored 13 for Marquette and Chris Otule added 11. The Golden Eagles fall to 17-6 on the season, 8-3 in conference play.
