WAUSAU, WI (WSAU) - Wisconsin’s new Secretary of the Wisconsin Economic Development Corporation Reed Hall says the public-private partnership is going to stay aggressive to bring more business and jobs to the state.
Several existing tools like the Main Street Program will continue. One of the new tools for attracting new, large business is the Certified Site program. It’s already being prepared in Stevens Point and is on Mayor Zach Vruwink’s agenda for Wisconsin Rapids.
The Certified Sites program allows municipalities to have business park locations with at least 50 acres meet criteria and get promoted nationwide as suitable for immediate development. Hall says the Stevens Point certified site was one of the first 9, and they’re pushing for up to 30 more.
Chippewa Falls just added a certified site this week.
