FOND DU LAC, WI (WTAQ) - A suspect in a Fond du Lac standoff has been taken into custody.
Police say it all began around 9:05 a.m. Monday when fire crews were called to a fire at a vacant house at 65 N. Hickory Street.
A person of interest in that fire barricaded himself in a nearby apartment at The Elms trailer park.
Shots were fired at officers, but no one was hurt.
Residents living nearby were asked to stay in their homes, while the area was blocked off during the standoff.
Meanwhile, firefighters put out the fire at N. Hickory St. They say no one was hurt.
The cause of the fire has been determined, but it was deemed suspicious. The State Fire Marshal’s Office has been called in to investigate.
