Reds 9, Brewers 1

MILWAUKEE, WI (WHBL) - The Brewers got crushed by Cincinnati on Sunday, 9-1 at Miller Park. The Reds scored five runs in the second inning, and four more in the fifth. Wily Peralta pitched his worst game in three weeks, giving up seven runs on eight hits in just four-and-a-third innings. He walked four and struck out four, as his record fell to 8-13. Homer Bailey won his third straight decision for the Reds, giving up a run on three hits in eight innings with eight strikeouts and a walk. Bailey is now 8-10.  Ryan Hanigan drove in three runs, including a two-run single in the second which ended up being the game-winner. Khris Davis homered for Milwaukee’s only offense. He also singled. The Reds won their sixth game in their last eight. Milwaukee split its four-game set with Cincy – and the Crew managed to get out of the Central Division cellar during the weekend, now a half-game ahead of the last-place Chicago Cubs. The Brewers will open a home series against Saint Louis tonight.  Right-hander Marco Estrada will face Cardinals’ right-hander Shelby Miller.  Pregame coverage on WHBL begins at 6:35.
