SHEBOYGAN, WI (WHBL) - A Sheboygan man who attempted to break into an ATM in the city of Sheboygan with a crowbar early Thursday morning is facing up to 8 years in prison. 26 year old Ian Kinney was formally charged yesterday with criminal damage to property and possession of burglary tools. He was nabbed after a short police chase thanks to an alert citizen. Authorities said he was watching TV early Thursday when he heard a banging noise and went outside to investigate and saw Kinney smashing and prying on the ATM at the U.S. Bank at 13th and Clara. He then called police. The ATM was never entered, but bank officials estimated the damage at $10,000.
