SAN FRANCISCO, CA (WHBL) - Wily Peralta earned his first win in four starts Tuesday night as the Milwaukee Brewers beat the Giants in San Francisco 3-1. The rookie right-hander went six-and-a-third innings, giving up a run on five hits with two walks and six strikeouts. Peralta is now 8-11. Jim Henderson got his first career four-out save, as Milwaukee improved to a Major League-best 40-0 when leading after eight innings. Matt Cain struck out six in seven innings and took the loss. He’s now 7-7. Norichika Aoki scored the eventual winning run on a throwing error in the fourth. Giants’ catcher Buster Posey tried to pick off Aoki at third, but his throw sailed into left field. Carlos Gomez hit a solo homer which ended an 0 for 18 slump. The Brewers scored their other run on a sacrifice fly from Jonathan Lucroy in the ninth. San Francisco scored its only run on a ground-out by pinch-hitter Joaquin Arias in the seventh. The Giants have not hit a homer in 92 innings in their home ballpark, dating back to July 20th. The Brewers have won five of their last nine. The two teams will play again tonight. Right-hander Marco Estrada will make his first start in two months, coming off a nasty hamstring injury. Left-hander Madison Bumgarner starts for the Giants. Pregame coverage on WHBL gets underway at 8:40.
