SHEBOYGAN, WI (WHBL) - A traffic accident in Ozaukee County resulted in a diesel fuel spill in Sheboygan County early Tuesday morning. Sgt. Jim Gottsacker of the Sheboygan County Sheriff’s Department said the mishap involved a semi which had apparently sustained a puncture to its fuel tank, but continued north on I-43. Gottsacker said when the leak was discovered around three o’clock, the driver pulled off of the interstate at County V and pulled into the parking lot at the Western Shores truck stop, where diesel fuel continued to flow out. The town of Wilson Fire Department and the Highway Department were dispatched and the leak was stopped. Gottsacker said the fuel was contained and a Green Bay firm was called in to do the cleanup. He said there is a small line of fuel in the northbound lane of I-43 from Ozaukee County to County V and larger amounts on V to Western Shores where the semi had slowed down.
