OZAUKEE COUNTY, WI (WHBL) - The Ozaukee County Sheriff’s Office reports a 39 year old Cedarburg man has been arrested for leaving a message talking about school shootings on a crisis line. The suspect had reportedly left several similar messages over the last few days. An alert was issued and police stationed officers at all buildings in the Mequon-Thiensville School District Friday. District high schools weren’t in session and elementary and middle school students were already scheduled for an early release. Authorities say the suspect is under mental health observation. Cedarburg school officials say no threats were made to specific schools, but the actions were taken to make sure students, faculty and staff were safe.
