The NFL released the 2013 schedule Thursday night and the Green Bay Packers will pick up where they left off, at Candlestick Park in San Francisco.   The Pack will open the season September 8 on the road against the NFC Champion 49ers, who blew out Green Bay 45-31 in their last game, the NFC Divisional playoffs.   The home opener is against the Washington Redskins the following week.  Then it's a trip to Cincinnati before a very early bye week.  It's the earliest possible in week four, the first time Green Bay has had that bye since 1999.  The Packers return to Lambeau October 6, hosting Detroit before traveling to Baltimore to meet the Super Bowl champs.  A late afternoon game against Cleveland at home preceeds the first of four prime time appearances.  Green Bay will meet the Vikings in Minnesota Sunday night, October 27.  That will be followed by a Monday night game at home against the Chicago Bears.   Back to back games against the NFC East are next, at home against the Philadelphia Eagles, like the Lions game, a gold package contest.  Green Bay plays the New York Giants at MetLife stadium for the third year in a row, on prime time, Sunday night, November 17.    The rematch with the Vikings comes next at Lambeau and then a short week.  Green Bay will spend Thanksgiving in Detroit against the Lions again.   After a 10 day break, a second bye if you will, Green Bay will host last year's top seed in the NFC, the Atlanta Falcons at Lambeau in the final Sunday night game.  The schedule wraps up in Dallas, at home versus Pittsburgh and the finale at Soldier Field in Chicago.   Based on last year's winning percentage of .533, the Packers have the league's 6th toughest schedule, facing 7 playoff teams and both Super Bowl participants.  It's only the second time under Mike McCarthy the Packers will open on the road and for the first time since 1921, the Packers will not have to play back to back road games all year.
