SHEBOYGAN, Wis. (WHBL) - After years of discussion, the county and city have come up with an agreement to combine emergency dispatch at the Sheboygan County Dispatch Center. The Shared Services Committee met Monday night and voted to approve a proposal to move the dispatch center to the county law enforcement center by the year 2015. Under the proposal, the city will fund remodeling of the new center by providing $2.5 million for the project. The average cost to property owners in the city and the county will be about $38 per year. County Administrator Adam Payne is pleased with the proposal, saying it was a long process with a lot of give and take, but now combined dispatch is about to become a reality. The proposal now heads to Sheboygan’s Committee of the Whole and the County Law Committee for approval.
