Over 100 people attend memorial for slain spa worker Zina Haughton

MILWAUKEE (WTAQ) - Over 100 people attended a memorial service in Milwaukee Sunday for Zina Haughton.

She and two others were killed a month ago Wednesday when her estranged husband Radcliffe stormed into the spa in Brookfield where she was working.

Her brother, Elvin Daniel, said he would meet soon with state legislators to push for a bill which he calls “Zina’s Law.” It would require domestic abuse suspects to wear GPS bracelets, so police and victims can track their movements.

A judge had ordered Radcliffe Haughton to stay away from his wife under a restraining order issued 3 days before the slayings. And even though the judge ordered Radcliffe to give up his weapons, he bought a gun from a private dealer the day before the shootings.

Two days after that, two Democratic state lawmakers called for tougher gun laws against domestic abusers – even though advocates on both sides of the gun control debate said it would not have stopped the killer from obtaining his weapon.

Radcliffe Haughton killed his wife Zina, Cary Robuck, and Maelyn Lind on October 21st – and he wounded 4 other women in the spa before turning the gun on himself.
