SHEBOYGAN, Wis. (WHBL) - The race for president will be decided today, but Sheboygan County voters have several other contests to decide. 26th District Assemblyman Mike Endsley is being challenged by former Sheriff Mike Helmke. In the 27th District incumbent Steve Kestell of Elkhart Lake has opposition from Steven Bauer. And in the 20th Senate District incumbent Glen Grothmann is being opposed by Tanya Lohr. There are also a couple of county offices that are being contested. Democrat Dave Wehrwein and Republican Jon Dolson are seeking to replace long-time County Clerk Julie Glancey, who is retiring. And, Register of Deeds Ellen Schleicher is being challenged by Kris Wheeler. Polls open at 7 and close tonight at 8 o’clock. As of noon, City Clerk Sue Richards says they were at 47% voter turnout.
