SHEBOYGAN, Wis.(WHBL) -Sheboygan Mayor Terry Van Akkeren said efforts to make his position part-time would virtually change the structure of city government.  Van Akkeren, on Sheboygan’s Morning News, was commenting on a proposal which came up at last night’s council meeting to cut his salary from $50,000 to $25,000.  Van Akkeren said the council last year established the position of Chief Administrative Officer without going to the people…and now some aldermen are trying to change the structure of city government without getting public input.  The council took no action last night, but referred the proposal to committee for further study.
