FOND DU LAC, WI (WTAQ) - Recalled Fond du Lac GOP Senator Randy Hopper was acquitted of drunk driving Friday. Hopper was pulled over after leaving a Packers game in October. A witness reported his SUV was weaving through traffic and crossed the center line. The preliminary breathalyzer registered a point .13 blood alcohol level. The legal limit is .08. Hopper says politics played a role, citing his vote on the collective barginining law. Hopper was in a walking out of a Festival Foods when he was stopped. Teh arresting officer never actually saw Hopper driving. Hopper is still facing a charge of refusing an blood alcohol test before being booked into jail.
