UNDATED (WSAU) Packers’ star Donald Driver either has tougher competition or softer judges on “Dancing With the Stars.” The show’s 14th season got off to a record-breaking start last night on A-B-C. None of the 12 contestants got a score below six – which is rare for a season premiere. Driver was given 21 of a possible 30 points, as judges Carrie Ann Inaba, Len Goodman, and Bruno Tonioli all gave “sevens” to Driver’s cha-cha with Peta Murgatroyd.
Actor Jaleel White and singer Katherine Jenkins each got 26. At one point, Driver dropped Murgatroyd and grabbed her as she fell. Goodman told Driver he started to “lose control” during his dance. Tonioli said Driver’s attitude is right but quote, “You have to refine it.” Inaba said she loved his charisma and charm.
Green Bay’s all-time leading receiver had his family and an appreciative audience looking on. The crowd booed when the scores were announced, as many thought they should have been higher.
Contestants will be eliminated starting next week.
