MADISON, WI (WTAQ) - The state’s election agency struck down only 26,000 Governor Scott Walker recall signatures, almost guaranteeing a statewide recall election will happen.
The Government Accountability Board says recall organizers turned in about 930,000 signatures to recall Walker. Only half those signatures need to be ruled valid to order a recall.
The governor’s campaign did not file any challenges.
In a memo circulated Friday, the state Government Accountability Board would consider a May 8th primary for Democrats. If there is a primary, the general election would then be on June 5th.
