SHEBOYGAN, Wis.(WHBL) - A Sheboygan man who took advantage of his employer and ran up a substantial credit card balance, will spend time in the county jail, but avoided prison time. 37 year old Jonathan Oyler had pleaded no contest to a felony theft charge and was placed on probation for 5 years, with the first year to be spent in the county jail. Oyler was doing maintenance chores for the owner of an apartment complex and was trusted with a Home Depot credit card in 2010, when he used it to purchase over $16,000 in gift cards and other items. However, in December of 2010, Home Depot contacted the owner to report suspicious purchases and that’s when police became involved. Oyler has also been ordered to make restitution in the amount of nearly 26,000 dollars.
