OSHKOSH, WI (WTAQ) - Oshkosh police say the son of former Packers offensive coordinator Joe Philbin who drowned in January had a blood alcohol level more than twice the legal limit to drive. Officer Joe Nichols also says 21-year-old Michael Philbin tested positive for marijuana. Michael's father Joe Philbin recently became Head Coach for the Miami Dolphins and release a statement. “The loss of a child and sibling is absolutely heartbreaking to a family. Ours is no different. We hope that the results of the recent toxicology report serves as a reminder to us all that the mixture of alcohol and marijuana can be extremely dangerous; potentially even fatal.” “Michael was alone when the accident occurred. For us as a family this has been the most difficult thing to deal with. Had he been with someone this would have been avoided.” Philbin’s body was pulled from the Fox River Monday, January 9th after a night out with friends in Oshkosh. Police say Philbin fell through the ice in the early morning hours of Sunday.
