MILWAUKEE (WTAQ) - A disbarred attorney is due in court Wednesday afternoon, for allegedly embezzling $737,000 from a Milwaukee law firm where he used to work.
37-year-old Brian Mularski of Bayside is charged with two felony counts of theft from a business setting.
Prosecutors said Mularski took money that was supposed to be paid to insurance companies, and placed in a bank account with the name of fictitious law firm. Mularski worked for Eisenberg, Riley, and Zimmerman at the time.
Authorities said he was on vacation when the insurers told his bosses they were never paid. Mularski was asked about the matter when he returned – and officials said he soon paid back around $236,000.
Mularski’s law license was revoked in 2010. The State Supreme Court cited ethical violations.
