SHEBOYGAN, Wis. (WHBL) - A Sheboygan man is facing identity theft charges after allegedly impersonating a Milwaukee doctor in an effort to obtain anxiety medication on Monday. 20 year old Robert Albert was formally charged Tuesday in Sheboygan County Court with one felony count of identity theft, a count of attempting to possess a controlled substance, and bail jumping. Albert allegedly called the Walgreen’s Pharmacy on Calumet Drive in Sheboygan - acting as a doctor -to fill a prescription for himself for Alprazolam. According to the criminal complaint, the pharmacist was suspicious and contacted authorities, who then contacted the doctor Albert impersonated. The doctor said he’d never seen Albert, and never prescribes medication over the phone. Albert is facing over 12 years in prison if convicted.
