MILWAUKEE, WI (WTAQ) - State Representative Tamara Grigsby of Milwaukee has been released from a hospital, where she was taken before Christmas with complications from cancer. Her spokesman Kevin Benish says she is recovering in a private setting. The Democrat is starting to talk some more about state legislative issues, but Benish says Grigsby will not be able to attend Governor Scott Walker’s annual State-of-the-State address in nine days. Benish said the 37-year-old lawmaker and her family express a “heartfelt gratitude” for the kindness and respect shown to Grigsby. She has asked that in lieu of flowers, donations be sent to groups like Milwaukee’s Inner City Congregations Allied for Hope, the Wisconsin Council-on-Children and Families, and Urban Underground, and the Wisconsin Campaign Against Violence.
