WISCONSIN RAPIDS, WI (WTAQ) - Central Wisconsin authorities say the death of a woman found near a creek was apparently an accident.

According to police near Wisconsin Rapids, 43-year-old Sailaja Cherukuri went for a walk around 7 p.m. Monday – and her family reported her missing two hours later.

Grand Rapids Town Police Chief Dave Lewandowski said the woman walked frequently in the area, and she knew where she was going.

A search team found her body Tuesday morning on the west end of Lake Wazeecha.
