MADISON, WI (WTAQ) - The only survivor of a car crash that killed four people in Dane County was moved Thursday from a hospital room to a jail cell.

18-year-old Victor Benitez of Madison is being held for violating a probation he received in a disorderly conduct case last year.

In the meantime, authorities say they’re seeking 4 counts of homicide by drunk driving against Benitez.

Authorities said he was driving a car that sped through a stop sign, hit a railroad track, went airborne, hit a utility pole, and then overturned.

All four of his passengers were killed in the crash, which happened last Saturday in Fitchburg. Killed were 17-year-old Martin Sanchez-Gutierrez and 18-year-old Jose Cabrera-Hernandez, both of Madison – and 25-year-old Alan Dickson and 17-year-old Phankham Chitanavong, both of Rockford Illinois.
