Packers Host Tennessee Today

GREEN BAY, WI (WHBL) - It appears Evan Dietrich-Smith will start at center when the Green Bay Packers host Tennessee Sunday afternoon.  Coach Mike McCarthy said after Friday's practice that normal starter Jeff Saturday will be ready, despite having neck-and-shoulder problems, but it looks as though the torch has been passed.  Saturday, who signed with the Packers this season after 13 years with the Colts, said he’s not surprised at the change but said it’s still disappointing and tough.  The Packers secured the NFC North Division crown last week against Chicago.   If the Packers win today, they’ll secure the Number-Three playoff seed in the N-F-C.  Green Bay comes in with a 10-4 record.  Tennessee is 5-9 on the year.

Meanwhile, guard T-J Lang is listed as probable and was cleared to play after passing a concussion test.  Running back Alex Green, who’s also getting over a concussion, is listed as questionable, which means he has a 50-50 chance of playing.  Defensive end Jerel Worthy is also questionable with a hamstring injury, and back-up guard Greg Van Roten is questionable with back trouble. Receiver Jordy Nelson is again out with a bad hamstring.  Also out are tight end Tom Crabtree, running back James Starks, defensive end C-J Wilson, and defensive back Charles Woodson.  Receiver Randall Cobb is probable with a shoulder issue.  Quarterback Aaron Rodgers is also probable, along with linebacker Erik Walden.  Rodgers tweaked an ankle last Sunday, but he says he’s okay.

Coverage of today's game on WHBL begins at 10am with kickoff at Noon.
