Andersen To Be Introduced As Badgers New Coach

MADISON, WI (WHBL) - Gary Andersen will be introduced this morning as Wisconsin’s 29th football coach. The Badgers have a 10 am news conference scheduled, where Andersen will talk about his past four years as Utah State’s coach as well as some of his hopes for the Badgers.  Athletic director Barry Alvarez will also answer questions. There were reports that most of Andersen’s staff from Utah State would join him in Madison.  But the new coach will have to find an offensive coordinator, after Matt Wells was named yesterday as Andersen’s replacement at Utah State.  Media reports say Andersen will bring four of his old assistants to the U-W – defensive coordinator Dave Aranda, offensive line coach T-J Woods, defensive line coach Chad Kauha’aha’a, and special teams’ coach Bill Busch.  Most of Bret Bielema’s former assistants in Madison have already committed themselves to other jobs after the Rose Bowl.  But running backs coach Thomas Hammock and assistant secondary coach Ben Strickland could stay on – and possibly line coach Bart Miller in a different role.
