Bob Nielson, head football coach and athletic director for the University of Minnesota Duluth, is moving on after 10 years. In a press conference today, Western Illinois University officials named Nielson their new head football coach. Considering the success Nielson enjoyed at Division II UMD, a move to a Division I school is represents a natural progression. Nielson was 100-26 during his tenure at UMD. He won two national championships and five conference titles.
