MILWAUKEE, WI (WSAU) - A Milwaukee woman convicted of trying to steal a baby by killing a pregnant woman and slicing out her full-term fetus will spend the rest of her life in prison with no chance for parole.
34-year-old Annette Morales-Rodriguez was found guilty by a jury in September on two counts of first-degree intentional homicide, one for the mother and one for the baby.
Judge David Borowski could have allowed the possibility of parole, but chose not to. Morales-Rodriguez told police she killed the 23-year-old woman and tried to steal the baby because she was desperate to give her boyfriend a son. She told investigators she was "sorry for the girl" and never meant for the baby to die.
