Bucks' Guards Lead Team To Win

BROOKLYN, NY (WHBL) - Giving up several inches in size didn’t stop Milwaukee Bucks guards Brandon Jennings and Monta Ellis from scoring 50 points combined in a 97-88 win in Brooklyn Sunday night. Jennings scored 26 and Ellis 24 as the Bucks held off a late-game rally by Brooklyn to take the victory. The Bucks backcourt is significantly smaller than Nets guards Deron Williams and Joe Johnson, but they actually doubled the output of the bigger players. Jennings rounded out his night with seven assists and a half-dozen rebounds. Ellis started to look like he’s emerging from a mild shooting slump. Milwaukee hasn’t lost a game to the Nets since March of 2009 and led this one by 29 points halfway through the third quarter. Brooklyn cut the margin to six with about three minutes to go. The Nets had started the game on an 11-2 run, but Bucks coach Scott Skiles called a strategic time out and his team immediately went on a 23-7 run of its own.  Brooklyn has lost four straight.
