MILWAUKEE, WI (WHBL) - Philadelphia Phillies right hander Kyle Kendrick held the Brewers to three hits in an 8-0 shut out Sunday at Miller Park. Aramis Ramirez and Corey Hart were given the day off. Kendrick went the first eight innings, striking out seven and walking just one batter. The Brewers are losers of five of their last seven games. The contest was stopped for seven minutes when a surprising rain shower fell with the roof open. It takes about 10 minutes to completely close the roof. The Brewers were batting at the time. Domonic Brown drove in four runs for Philadelphia, while Michael Martinez hit a home run. Nyjer Morgan led off the game with a triple, but was caught off third when Rickie Weeks hit a sharp grounder back to Kenrick. Milwaukee didn’t have many chances after that. Randy Wolf took the loss. The Brewers welcome the Cubs to Miller Park tonight for game-one of a three game series. Coverage on WHBL begins at 6:35.
