ST. LOUIS, MO (WHBL) - Randy Wolf admits he’s had a terrible season. And the Milwaukee left-hander hopes to start turning things around tonight, when the Brewers open a three-game series at Saint Louis. Wolf has only had one victory since the end of April, which could put him in a real pickle when he becomes a free agent at the end of the season. Wolf is 3-7 on the year with a 5.45 E-R-A. Last Saturday, he gave up three homers in seven innings as Milwaukee fell to the Washington Nationals. He’s just 1-2 in his last nine appearances. The Cardinals will send right-hander Joe Kelly to the mound tonight. He’s 1-4 with an E-R-A of just under three. Kelly has not given up any more than three runs in his nine starts since filling in for the injured Jaime Garcia. Last weekend, Kelly struck out a season-high six batters in six-and-a-third innings, but he lost by one to the Chicago Cubs. He’s been victimized by a lack of run support – and the Redbirds have lost five of his last six starts. The Brewers are going for their fourth straight win overall, while the Cards are going for their fourth straight victory at Busch Stadium. Coverage on WHBL gets underway tonight at 6:40.
