MILWAUKEE, WI (WHBL) - The Milwaukee Brewers crushed Houston 10-1 Tuesday night at Miller Park. Yovani Gallardo got the win – and he drove in the eventual winning run in the second inning on a squeeze bunt that scored Rickie Weeks. Aramis Ramirez and Corey Hart both added three-run homers, and it was 8-1 by the end of the fifth. Ramirez went 3 for 4 with four R-B-I’s on the night. Chris Snyder homered for the Astros’ only run. Gallardo went seven innings, giving up a run on three hits and a walk. He struck out five as he won his ninth consecutive start against Houston, and improved to 9-8 overall. Rookie starter Dallas Kuechel took the loss for the Astros. He gave up seven runs in four-plus innings, and walked a season-high six. Brewers’ bench coach Jerry Narron was ejected in the ninth, after challenging a strike that wasn’t called. Manager Ron Roenicke came out and argued, and he was ejected as well by the home plate umpire. The win was only the third for Milwaukee in its last 12. Houston is now 2-17 since the All-Star break – and they’ve now lost 10 straight series. The Brewers will go for a sweep this afternoon. Right-hander Mike Fiers will start against Astros’ right-hander Jordan Lyles. Coverage on WHBL begins at 12:35.
