MILWAUKEE (WTAQ) - A Milwaukee man is okay after he allegedly threatened his girlfriend with a shotgun, and was later shot by a police sergeant when he refused to drop the weapon.
The sergeant and another officer were called to the man’s house early Sunday on Milwaukee’s west side. That was after the woman was threatened when she tried to leave the house.
Officials said the 27-year-old suspect ignored orders to drop his shotgun, so the 55-year-old police sergeant shot him. The suspect was treated at Froedtert Hospital, and was then released to police custody. No one else was hurt in the incident.
The sergeant is a 30-year veteran of the Milwaukee Police force. He’s now on administrative duty while the police department investigates his role in the incident.
