Jobs session begins, Democrats unimpressed with "bait and switch" effort

MADISON, WI (WTAQ) - Wisconsin lawmakers are at the Capitol Thursday to put a focus on jobs creation and vote on about two dozen bills.

Governor Scott Walker called the special session.

The measures being dealt with involve cutting taxes for employer-paid mass transit expenses and tax credits for community development.

Democrats were less than impressed with the governor’s “Back to Work Wisconsin” special session, saying the session will be like the last one which they called “bait and switch.”

They say the agenda is loaded with giveaways to special interest groups.  The last jobs bill present by the Governor included the controversial elimination of collective bargaining for a majority of public workers.

Lawmakers are scheduled to return to Madison next month for their regular session.

Walker isays he wants the work started today to be complete by the first week of November.
