SHEBOYGAN, Wis. (WHBL) - The Sheboygan City Council convenes tonight as a Committee of the Whole to confer with its lawyer on the next step in the removal of Mayor Bob Ryan. On Monday, aldermen hired two attorneys to assist in the process, and tonight they will meet in closed session to hear from Attorney Joseph Voelkner who was retained to advise the council on procedures leading up to a quasi-judicial hearing on the mayor’s removal. The other attorney, Steven Biskupic, will act as special prosecutor. He has said that his job will be to interview witnesses and represent the council at the hearing. Biskupic said he will work pro bono. The council had voted to remove Ryan from office for his latest drinking episode last July after he refused to voluntarily step down.
