There are a great many parallels between Sarah Jessica Parker's real life and the life of the character she plays in her new movie, I Don't Know How She Does It. Both Parker and Kate Redding (the main character in the book and the movie) have to balance their jobs, their families, and their husbands while being careful that one element does not overpower the other two, thereby throwing their entire lives out of whack. This is most certainly something that Parker has been doing for years, but it seems like her decision to play Kate in feature film adaptation of Allison Pearson's book has unleashed a slew of curiosity about how she -- the 4-time Golden Globe winning actress, mother of three, and wife of fourteen years -- is able to ""actually do it.""
And so in an attempt to shed some light on how she finds time to be a mother and wife and a working actress and an entrepreneur, Sarah Jessica Parker sat down with fellow person who ""actually does it,"" Katie Couric, and revealed that she still doesn't mind talking to fans about about Sex and the City, what the personalities of her young twin daughters are like, and that she broke down and leased a minivan. Parker even hinted about why she may have even accepted the lead role in the Douglas McGrath-directed movie, saying ""I mean, it's just so interesting, the topic of being a mother, a parent, working in or out of the home, how everybody does it. But it's genuinely inspiring and very inspiring to see how a majority of women have to do it. And I think about that a lot."" But then she shared a little known secret, and it's that there have been many times where she's wished that instead of rushing off to a movie set, she was able to talk with the other moms who stand outside school, talking with one another after they've just dropped off their children. But if there's one thing we can definitely walk away with after watching this interview, it's that not only does SJP ""actually do it,"" she ""actually likes it"" too.
