OSHKOSH, Wis. (WHBL) - UAW Local 578 members passed a new five-year contract with Oshkosh Corporation Saturday. Local 578 President Nick Nitschke says the vote was 77 percent in favor and 23 percent against the new offer, which includes an 8.5 percent wage increase over five years, but workers will have to chip in more for their health insurance. Nitschke says the contract passed in part because the company agreed to remove language that would have let it use temporary workers starting in 2013. The union had rejected two previous contract offers.
