SHEBOYGAN, Wis. (WHBL) - A Sheboygan man has been charged with child abuse after allegedly whipping two children with a belt on Wednesday. 27 year old Alonzo Binns, of Sheboygan, was charged with the two felonies Thursday in Sheboygan County Court after he and his girlfriend allegedly got into an argument Wednesday night after she told him she wanted to leave him. While they were fighting, her two children were listening in from behind a closed door. When Binns noticed the children listening, he allegedly started striking the two children, ages 9 and 11, with a belt. When the girlfriend heard her children screaming, she yelled at him to stop hitting her children, at which time he came after her with the belt, whipping her arms, back and side so hard that the buckle broke off, then punched her in the face. When officers arrived on the scene, they witnessed welts on the girlfriend and the children. If convicted, Binns is facing up to 13 years in prison.
