St. Louis Cardinals players celebrate wth the World Series trophy after they defeated the Texas Rangers in Game 7 to win MLB's World Series

(Reuters) - A full postseason share for each member of the 2011 World Series champion St. Louis Cardinals was worth over $323,000, up 1.7 percent from last year's payout, Major League Baseball (MLB) said on Monday.

The runner-up Texas Rangers dispersed more than $251,000 for those voted a full share, up 2 percent from 2010.

The players' bonus pool, formed from 60 percent of gate receipts from the first three games of the Division Series and 60 percent of gate receipts from the first four games of the League Championship series and the World Series, amounted to more than $57 million and was divided among 12 clubs.

St. Louis awarded 51 full shares of their $20.6 million haul, 12 partial shares and eight lesser cash awards, while Texas handed out 47 full shares, 6.5 partial shares and 19 cash awards from their $13.8 million portion of the proceeds.

Money was split up, in diminishing order, between all playoff teams as well as second-place teams that failed to qualify for the postseason.
