LOS ANGELES (Reuters) - Five people were killed on Wednesday when a small plane crashed on takeoff from Long Beach Airport, outside Los Angeles, authorities said.
The twin-engine plane, which was departing for Salt Lake City with six people on board, crashed and erupted into flames shortly before 10:40 a.m., Long Beach Fire Department spokesman Steve Yamamoto said.
Yamamoto said the lone survivor was taken to a local hospital.
