MIAMI (Reuters) - A Miami courthouse was evacuated on Thursday amid reports someone might have entered with a gun, Miami-Dade police said.
Hundreds of people exited the Richard E. Gerstein Justice Building and waited outside while police checked the premises. No weapons were found and people were allowed to re-enter the building less than an hour later.
The courthouse is used for criminal trials in the state system and anyone entering the building is required to pass through a metal detector. There were no reports of gunshots.
