MILWAUKEE (WSAU) - Milwaukee police say the mother of a missing 2-year-old who was left behind at a McDonalds restaurant has come forward.
The child was in the play area with a group of 10 siblings and cousins. Several extended family members were at the restaurant at the time when the toddler was left behind. At home the mother and several family members live in a two-story duplex. It wasn't until the next morning that the mother noticed that one child was missing. The mother's aunt saw the story on the TV news.
The child is not harmed. Social services is interviewing the mother and will review the child's living situation before deciding whether to return the girl.
