SPRINGFIELD, IL (WIBQ)  --  Civil Unions are now legal in Illinois, as of yesterday, and officials in Crawford County said there is one registered same sex, civil union there. There are none in Clark County, though. Governor Paul Quinn signed the law six months ago, and it became effective on June first. Now Illinois is one of a few states and the District of Columbia that recognizes same sex, civil unions.
