WISCONSIN DELLS, Wis. (WTAQ) - A trucker killed after part of his rig plunged into Mirror Lake near Wisconsin Dells has been identified as 43-year-old Peter Ramanand of the Bronx in New York.
His passenger, 27-year-old Addam Brown of Newville Pennsylvania, was hospitalized with non-life-threatening injuries.
It was snowing on Monday when their westbound truck went through a bridge on Interstate 90-94 near the Dells. Witnesses said the cab got wedged between two support pillars, while the trailer and its load scattered in the lake below.
The State Patrol is still investigating and said alcohol was not a factor.
The state DOT says the left westbound lane of the Interstate will be closed indefinitely while the support beams on the bridge are repaired.
